My collection does not follow a predetermined rationale. To me, it is more about selecting the right objects and assembling one-of-a-kind pieces. Looking after and fixing old things, sewing after old designs, wearing my grandmother's earrings, cooking with an old enameled pan, sitting in an armchair produced by Viennese design laboratories, wearing French overalls from the 1920s and most importantly, treasuring quality on top of everything else: all this gives my profound joy. Making comparisons is a daily challenge to be faced with eyes wide open to the prospects of novelty. I think it is key to refine one's taste whilst constantly pondering it. Everything I collect is part of a private judgmental education of my eye, longing for anything contemporary.
